LabArchives offers two ways to download an offline read-only copy of your notebook. These options include Create Offline Notebook and Notebook to PDF. The “Create Offline Notebook” option will create an HTML version of your notebook. The Notebook to PDF option will create a PDF of your Notebook.
Learn more about downloading an offline version of your complete notebook here.
Notebook to PDF
To create a PDF version of your notebook, click the triple dot menu at the top right, select “Utilities”, then click “Notebook to PDF.” After selecting this option, you will receive an email containing the download link.
PDF of a Folder or Page in your Notebook
You can also create a PDF of a selected folders or pages within your notebook. Just right-click (or ctrl+click) the folder or page in the Notebook Navigator and select “PDF.”
NOTE: To create a backup of a very large notebook (1GB or larger), we recommend creating PDFs from smaller sections of the notebook.
Once you select PDF, you have the following options:
- Show Comments (on by default)
- Show Empty Folders (off by default, option not available for PDF generation of a page.)
You will receive a download link to the email address associated with your account. You can also download the PDF through the Activity Feed. To view the Activity feed, click the triple bar menu on the top right, and select “Activity Feed.”
In the Activity Feed, select the “Reports” filter. Click the button “Download report” and the report will be available in your Downloads folder on your computer or whichever folder you have set to receive downloads.
Note: Individual file attachments larger than 250 MB will not be included in your offline export. The storage for these files is handled outside of LabArchives. You can always download each file individually, or contact LabArchives Support for additional help.
Printing a Notebook Page
You can print any page of your notebook by selecting the page print tool in the Page Tools menu in the upper-right part of the page. This will open a new tab with the browser print function.
Note: If you are printing a page with widgets, you may need to click “Cancel” on the print dialog to allow the page to load.
