In order to access Inventory data, you must be invited to the Inventory Lab and assigned a member role.
All Labs start with a single Inventory Account Owner, which is automatically assigned to the individual that creates the Lab. The Owner is given the Lab Manager Role and has full control over the Inventory Lab, including the ability to manage access and other Lab Management functions.
In order to share Inventory data with others, you’ll need to invite them to the Lab and assign a role which includes Lab Manager, Lab Member, or a custom role. Each role provides a different level of access and permissions, defining what actions a user can perform.
Lab Manager
The Lab Manager role has all rights and privileges to manage everything in an Inventory Lab. This role is typically given to the person(s) in charge of maintaining a lab’s inventory and Principle Investigator (PI). You can have multiple people with the Lab Manager role. A Lab Manager may also be the Account Owner (see below).
Lab Member
The Lab Member role is able to create Inventory items, search, and place order requests. This role is typically assigned to all non-managers who will be using, adding, or requesting Inventory items. You can have multiple people with the Lab Member role.
Account Owner
The Account Owner is the person who created the Inventory that will be used by members of the lab. By default Owners are assigned the role of Lab Manager. You can have multiple Lab Managers in your Inventory but only one Account Owner. The Account Owner of a Professional Edition License can subscribe, renew a subscription, and purchase additional seats. Click here to to learn more about managing a Professional Edition Subscription. To request a transfer of ownership, please contact support@labarchives.com.
Inventory Admin
Enterprise License accounts can assign an Inventory Admin(s) to oversee all Inventory Labs across the license. The admins will be able to view and search the contents of the Inventory Labs. This is especially helpful for Environmental Health & Safety Teams who may need to identify and track hazardous materials.
