- We expanded user access management tools in the Account Manager tool. Account Owners or Account Administrators can now assign new Users to either Full Access or Read-Only groups. We have also added clarification regarding the Guest role to note that Guests added via Account Manager have 60-day edit access to notebooks to which they are added.
- Users can now customize the display of Inventory Lists. The Inventory List entry integrates with LabArchives Inventory to allow creation of sample or materials pulled from Inventory for an experiment. This change allows users to customize the columns displayed in the entry to align with the types of items being used.
- The new search roll-out project initiated in April, commenced on the UK server.
April 2025
- Multiple UI upgrades were released to improve the accessibility of the ELN for users who use screen readers or keyboard navigation.
- We updated the behind-the-scenes tool that supports collaboration in the ELN. This important feature allows collaborators to work on the same page within a notebook, preventing them from editing over each other on a single text entry.
- The process of rolling out a new search technology began with the EU server. Users will find similar search results, but the upgrade ensure we are using the latest technology.

- Site Admin reports, which are available exclusively to organizations with an enterprise license, are now dated to make it easier to track reports over time.
Feb 2025
- New Welcome Page guides users on best practices and resources to set up notebooks and manage members. In addition to quick tips, this updated page links out to detailed guides on setting up notebooks for a lab.
- The notebook layout options have been completely updated to match research data management best practices. We now display Project notebook and Lab-Wide notebook options to promote the creation of multiple lab notebooks.
- When searching across multiple notebooks, the notebooks with results are now highlighted to make it easier to retrieve and access content from any notebook.
- Account Manager and the list of notebook members on the Share pop-up box now include members’ email addresses in addition to their names to make it easier to identify members of an organization who have been invited to a notebook.
Jan 2025
- We relocated the Notebook Settings link on main menu to make it easier for users to jump to this key tool for managing notebook members and settings.
- The pending witness icon now displays on shared pages to assist in managing pages that have been signed and are awaiting witnessing to comply with electronic signature requirements.
- We released multiple updates to support 508 compliance for users that interact with the ELN using either a screen reader or keyboard navigation.
