Forms are currently a beta feature available to Premium and Enterprise accounts. To gain access to Forms, please contact support@labarchives.com.
Forms are a custom entry type designed to standardize data collection across your notebooks and team. Form data can be aggregated from multiple entries into a single CSV export, allowing for streamlined data analysis and reporting processes.
In Form Center, Notebook owners can use the Form Builder tool to create custom forms with text input, number, single-select radio buttons, multi-select checkboxes, or dropdown select fields. Once a form is published, it can be added as an entry to notebook pages by any notebook member with edit rights. Data from form entries are aggregated in Form Center where it can be exported as a CSV file.
Example Use Case: Meta Analyses Across Multiple Experiments
Forms can be an effective way to simplify meta-analyses that may be required across multiple independent assays.
In the accompanying example, a form entry is used within a notebook page for a single assay that is repeated over time with different samples and experimental conditions. Each assay would be recorded on its own notebook page, which may include typical research documentation such as protocol, samples and materials, observations, raw data, analysis files, and results. A researcher can fill out their form over time while conducting their experiment and analyses.
The CSV export includes data from all ELN pages in which the form is used. Each line of the CSV export contains a link back to the original ELN entry, allowing researchers to easily review the context behind any specific datapoint.
